Degustazioni, musica e cultura a Porto Cesareo, Arnesano, Copertino dal 7 al 9 agosto
È l’evento clou dell’estate pugliese, la manifestazione che per prima ha portato il vino nella bellezza antica dei borghi storici di Puglia. E quest’anno “Calici di Stelle”, evento di punta della programmazione estiva del Movimento Turismo del Vino, in Puglia si fa addirittura in tre. Tre serate dedicate alla degustazione delle migliori etichette regionali in tre scenari diversi, tutti egualmente suggestivi: il Castello di Copertino, la spiaggia cittadina di Porto Cesareo, il Palazzo Marchesale di Arnesano.
Tre Comuni uniti dal vincolo del Distretto Urbano del Commercio “Duc in Altum” – per creare una rete utile a favorire le attività commerciali dei territori, e che per l’occasione costituiranno una staffetta che accompagnerà gli eno-appassionati lungo tutta la settimana di San Lorenzo.
7 AGOSTO – PORTO CESAREO
Si comincia infatti domenica 7 agosto dalle 21 in poi a Porto Cesareo con un beach party – per la prima volta nella storia del MTV Puglia – sulla spiaggia cittadina di via Silvio Pellico, dove i vini top delle aziende del Consorzio da tutta la Puglia saranno proposti in degustazione in isole d’assaggio presidiate dagli esperti della Fondazione Italiana Sommelier. I momenti “food” saranno invece a cura del laboratorio gastronomico “Fra.grante” di Carmiano, con piatti tipici salentini e altri di ispirazione etnica.
Ad animare la serata le eleganti sonorità live del DiscoPop Acoustic Quartet, con un repertorio di classici della disco music riarrangiati in chiave acustica, e il dj set di Enzo d’Argento, direttamente da Radio Selene, con una selezione ricercata nu jazz e bossa.

8 AGOSTO – ARNESANO
L’8 agosto sarà invece la volta di Arnesano, con l’apertura straordinaria dello splendido Palazzo Marchesale per una serata speciale: un vernissage di “Calici di Stelle”, con accesso libero a partire dalle 20 fino a esaurimento posti. Cuore della serata sarà la grande sessione di blind tasting in cui le etichette dei produttori del Consorzio saranno numerate, bendate e presentate in isole d’assaggio divise per tipologia e presidiate dai sommelier FIS. I partecipanti riceveranno una scheda per giocare e potranno degustare liberamente i vini, cercando di abbinarli ai vitigni prevalenti. A metà serata, che sarà presidiata dal laboratorio gastronomico “Fra.grante” di Carmiano, le bottiglie saranno svelate e presentate: chi avrà abbinato correttamente almeno cinque etichette ai relativi vitigni riceverà in omaggio una selezione di bottiglie del Movimento.
La colonna sonora della serata avrà invece i colori del pianoforte a coda di Larry Franco, jazzista pugliese tra i più apprezzati del panorama italiano, con all’attivo numerose collaborazioni con Renzo Arbore, Lino Patruno, Minnie Minoprio, Fabrizio Bosso, Franco Arigliano. Ad Arnesano, Larry Franco (pianoforte e voce) presenterà un repertorio jazz e swing italiano accompagnato dalla splendida voce di Dee Dee Joy (voce e rullante), Peppe Franco (tromba e voce) e Ilario De Marinis (contrabbasso).

9 AGOSTO – COPERTINO
Martedì 9 agosto, infine, Calici di stelle avrà come scenografia la piazza Castello a Copertino, con una serata finale all’insegna di vino, musica, arte e storia a partire dalle 19.30 in poi. Fulcro della manifestazione la tradizionale, grande degustazione dei vini top delle aziende del Consorzio, presentati in cinque grandi isole d’assaggio, divise per territori e presidiate dagli esperti della Fondazione Italiana Sommelier: in degustazione rossi, bianchi e rosati da tutta la Puglia, in una carrellata unica nel suo genere tra le perle enologiche della regione. Appassionati ed esperti potranno inoltre sfidarsi nel gioco “A prova di naso”, cercando di abbinare i campioni di vino proposti ai sentori prevalenti. Quanti effettueranno gli abbinamenti corretti riceveranno in omaggio una fornitura di vini del Consorzio.
A cura dei docenti FIS saranno anche le masterclass tematiche incentrate sui vitigni autoctoni pugliesi, ideate per facilitare l’approccio alle tecniche di degustazione olfattiva e affinare la percezione delle differenze tra le diverse cultivar. Le masterclass, della durata di 35 minuti ciascuna, si svolgeranno dalle 19.45 alle 22.30 all’interno del Castello del Belmonte, aperto in via eccezionale al pubblico dell’evento, e saranno gratuite, con prenotazione obbligatoria online o in loco presso il desk dedicato all’interno della manifestazione.
Grazie alla collaborazione con la Soprintendenza dei Beni Culturali di Copertino, gli eno-appassionati avranno anche la possibilità di partecipare a una visita guidata serale del Castello e del suo celeberrimo vigneto, un unicum nel panorama italiano, impiantato sui terrazzamenti del castello e gestito dalla cantina Cupertinum, socia del Movimento. Le visite, in turni da 30 minuti per un massimo di 15 partecipanti per turno, si svolgeranno dalle 19.30 alle 22.15. Anche questa attività sarà gratuita con prenotazione obbligatoria, sempre online o al desk dedicato. Anche in questo caso i momenti “food” saranno a cura del laboratorio gastronomico “Fra.grante” di Carmiano, con piatti tipici salentini e altri di ispirazione etnica.
Non mancheranno la musica e lo spettacolo, con il Riciclato Circo Musicale, gruppo musicale italiano in attività dal 2006 che utilizza materiali di recupero e oggetti di uso comune per ottenere gli strumenti musicali impiegati nei brani, siano essi ispirati a strumenti tradizionali o completamente nuovi ed inventati. Un concerto arricchito dallo spettacolo dei trampolieri luminosi del gruppo Nuvole bianche e dal fachiro mangiafuoco della Ghironda.

Wine tasting, music and culture in Porto Cesareo, Arnesano and Copertino from 7 to 9 August
It is the highlight of the Apulian summer, the event that first brought wine to the beautiful historical villages of Puglia. This year, "Calici di Stelle", the flagship event of the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia summer program, hosts three occasions. Three evenings dedicated to tasting the best regional labels in three different scenarios, all equally evocative: the Castle of Copertino, the public beach of Porto Cesareo, and the Palazzo Marchesale in Arnesano.
Three municipalities united by the bond of the Urban District of Commerce - "Duc in Altum" - to create a useful network that favours the commercial territories on which it is found, and which, for the occasion, will constitute an experience that will accompany wine lovers throughout the week of San Lorenzo.
AUGUST 7 - PORTO CESAREO
The first event begins on Sunday 7 August from 21 onwards in Porto Cesareo with a beach party - for the first time in the history of MTV Puglia - on the public beach in Silvio Pellico road, where top-value wines from all over Puglia will be offered in tasting “islands” manned by the experts of the Italian Sommelier Foundation. The “food” moments will instead be curated by the gastronomic laboratory “Fra.grante” from Carmiano, with traditional Salento dishes and many others of varying ethnic inspiration.
To animate the evening the elegant live sounds of DiscoPop Acoustic Quartet, with a repertoire of classic disco music rearranged in an acoustic key, and the dj set by Enzo d’Argento, with a refined selection of jazz music.

AUGUST 8 - ARNESANO
On August 8 it will be the turn of Arnesano, with the evening opening on the splendid Palazzo Marchesale for a special night: a vernissage of "Calici di Stelle", with free access from 8pm until seats run out. The heart of the evening will be the large blind tasting session in which the labels of the Consortium producers will be numbered, blindfolded and presented in tasting islands divided by type and manned by Fondazione Italiana Sommelier sommeliers. Participants will receive a card to play and will be able to taste the wines freely, trying to combine them with the prevailing grape varieties. In the middle of the evening, which will be manned by Carmiano's “Fragrante” gastronomic laboratory, the bottles will be unveiled and presented: whoever was able to correctly match at least five labels to the relative vines will receive a free selection of the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia wineries.
The soundtrack of the evening will instead be brought by the grand piano of Larry Franco, one of the most popular Apulian jazz players on the Italian scene, with numerous collaborations with Renzo Arbore, Lino Patruno, Minnie Minoprio, Fabrizio Bosso, Franco Arigliano. In Arnesano, Larry Franco (piano and voice) will present an Italian jazz and swing repertoire accompanied by the splendid voice of Dee Dee Joy (voice and snare), Peppe Franco (trumpet and voice) and Ilario De Marinis (double bass).

AUGUST 9 - COPERTINO
Finally, on Tuesday 9 August, Calici di stelle will have Piazza Castello in Copertino as its scenography, with a final evening dedicated to wine, music, art and history starting from 7.30 pm onwards. The centrepiece of the event is the traditional tasting of the top wines of the Consortium companies, to be presented in five large tasting islands, divided by territories and manned by the experts of the Italian Sommelier Foundation: tasting of reds, whites and rosés from all over Puglia, in a unique roundup of its kind among the wine pearls of the region. Enthusiasts and experts will also be able to challenge each other in the game "A test of the nose", trying to combine the samples of wine proposed with the prevailing scents. Those who make the correct combinations will receive a free supply of wines from the Consortium.
The thematic masterclasses focused on the many Apulian grape varieties will also be organised by the FIS teachers, and designed to facilitate the approach to tasting techniques and refine the perception of the differences between the different cultivars. The masterclasses, lasting about 35 minutes each, will take place from 7.45 pm to 10.30 pm inside the Castello del Belmonte, which is exceptionally open to the public of the event, and will be free, with compulsory booking online or on site at the desk dedicated to the event inside the space.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage of Copertino, wine lovers will also have the opportunity to participate in an evening guided tour of the Castle and its famous vineyard, unique in the Italian panorama, planted on the terraces of the castle and managed by the Cupertinum winery, member of Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia. The visits, in shifts of 30 minutes with a maximum of 15 participants per shift, will take place from 19.30 to 22.15. This activity will also be free with reservations required (always online or at the dedicated desk). As other events, the “food” moments will be organised by the gastronomic laboratory “Fragrante” from Carmiano, with traditional Salento dishes and others of varying ethnic inspiration.
There will be music and entertainment, with the Riciclato Circo Musicale, an Italian musical group that has worked in the music scene since 2006. They uses recycled materials and objects of common use to obtain the musical instruments used in the songs, whether they are inspired by traditional instruments or completely new and invented. A concert enriched by the spectacle of the luminous waders of the Nuvole Bianche group and the fire-eating fakir of the Ghironda.
